He was the former Deputy Commissioner of Cybersecurity and Deputy Chief Executive of the Cyber Security Agency of Singapore, where he shaped national regulations and global norms at the United Nations, secured critical infrastructure, and supported cyber crisis management. He also served as an invited expert to the United Nations on emerging digital threats, and has held roles as Chief Information Officer of the Republic of Singapore Air Force and Executive Vice President at Ensign InfoSecurity. He gives talks and advises boards and governments on digital innovation and cybersecurity.
He has been a speaker and trainer at top security conferences including GovWare, Black Hat Asia, Black Hat USA and DEFCON. Gaurav's work in cybersecurity has been covered by Channel News Asia, The Straits Times, Tech in Asia, and other leading media outlets.
He holds degrees from Stanford University and Harvard University (both on full scholarship) and is a Senior Adjunct Fellow at the S. Rajaratnam School of International Studies at Nanyang Technological University, Singapore.
Outside work, he is the co-founder of better.sg, the national tech-for-good charity. He is also a published author of a local bestselling book on debating and a television personality on an Emmy-nominated show.
